About this tour

The road to Tawang climbs from the Assam plains at Bhalukpong through Bomdila and Dirang, crossing the Sela Pass at about 4,170 metres. Tawang Monastery, founded in the seventeenth century, is the largest in India.

Kaziranga, back down in Assam, is a grassland and wetland park on the Brahmaputra floodplain and holds the largest population of the one-horned rhinoceros.
